Two students of S.Y.B.Sc went on national flagship ORV Sagar Kanya (SK-330) in “Tsunami Buoy Mooring Operation” in Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean under INCOSIS-SAIC project conducted by National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR) from 9th May – 6th June


A seminar was organized on 1st July by our alumni Mr. Anjan Kumar who has completed his M.S. in material Science from University of Augsburg, Germany and presently working in Germany.  The event started with webinar by representative of DAAD Ms. Shilpa. Then Anjan Kumar gave presentation how to apply in Germany and how to get scholarships.This was followed by Question Answer session.

MoU is signed on 19th August 2016 with – The Energy & Resource Institute (TERI). It is decided to have environmental initiatives with the help of TERI.

Organised a Two day UGC Sponsored National level Seminar on ‘Marathi Novels after 1990’ held on 16-17th September, 2016 in the Seminar Hall organised by BharatiyaBhasha Mandal of the Department of Indian Languages of Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar-Panaji, Goa.

The Department organised a Two-Day Workshop titled ‘ Creativity has no finish line’ by renowned Resource persons BrijBakshi (Former Director of Doordarshan) and GouranDhawanLal (Lead television anchor) on the 21st and 22nd of September. Students participated actively in the same.

Four day workshop on ‘Writing a Research Paper’ was convened by Dr.VrindaBorkar, Officiating Principal, coordinated by Prof.Akshata Bhat from 13th to 17th October 2016. 20 teachers participated in the workshop.  It included video lectures by Dr. Kristin Sainani, Professor, Stanford University, USA. She interacted on skype with the participants.

Organized a talk In collaboration with Goa Education Trust on 17th December, 2016 on“Geoscience – Made Easy” by Iain Stewart, a Scottish geologist, a fellow of the Geological society of London and President of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, Professor of Geoscience communication at the University of Plymouth and also a member of the scientific Board of UNESCO’s International Geoscience Programme.
